Maps and geographic data for Cochrane are kept current by the Town's Geographic Information Systems (GIS) staff.
GIS staff produce maps for fire, EMS, roads, parks and utilities; routes for census workers, support materials for master plans and feasibility studies, projections for flood activity and guidance for developers who must integrate with existing town infrastructure.
GIS can also help organizations and individuals with custom maps and large-scale prints. We can generate maps of Cochrane and area from our database and customize them to parameters such as land-use designation, neighbourhoods, streets, trails, air photos and more. See fee structure.
Some GIS datasets are available freely for download through the Town’s Open Data program. These datasets include LiDAR, orthophoto, addresses and more. Please visit the Calgary Regional Open Data website to browse all the datasets available at www.calgaryregionopendata.ca
