Hiking Club

The overall objective of the Cochrane Hiking Club is to encourage residents to become more physically active through hiking and snow-shoeing while taking advantage of our beautiful mountain parks.

Check out the 2017 Cochrane Hiking Club schedule to see what great locations the club will be hiking to this year. 

Drop-ins are welcome but please contact one of the following club members for information prior to your first hike.

Please bring a $10.00 drop-in fee and a completed waiver to your first hike.

Time: Tuesdays 7:45 am
Place: Mitford Park Parking Lot
Cost: $10 drop-in fee, $45 annual membership

To register for your annual membership, call the Recreation Office at 403-851-2534. 
Club membership is open to persons over the age of 18.

Men's and Women's Walking Groups

Men’s Walking Group

Great physical activity along with the comradeship with the guys. They walk rain or shine, year round along the Town of Cochrane pathways.

Meeting location: West Rock Parking Lot – located on West Rock Road off Hwy 22 across from Smitty’s (turn left before skateboard park)

Meeting Time: Approx. 8:15 am, walk starts at 8:30 am (sharp), Mon, Wed & Fri

Duration:  Approx. 1 hour

Distance: Approx. 5kms

Meet for coffee after: McDonalds, Mon & Fri
                                   Guy’s Bakery & Coffee Shop, Wed

Women’s Walking Group

Great physical activity, share friendship and enjoying the outdoors along the Town of Cochrane pathways

Meeting Location: Mitford Park Parking Lot

Meeting Time: 8:30am Mon, Wed & Fri

Duration: Approx. 1 hour

Distance: Approx. 5kms (or pending consensus of the group)

Meet for coffee after: Tim Hortons (Westside Drive)

        *There is no fee associated to participate in either group.  Just show up!
