HISTORIC DOWNTOWN GETS NEW ART

Fourth St art

Fourth Street got a new piece of art today, part of the Town’s Historic Downtown Enhancement Project.

Other components include the gateway feature at the west end of First Street and new trees planted on Fourth last year.

The wrought iron panels were created by Little Monkey Metal Works and depict scenes of the Cochrane area similar to the ones on the street banners.

Mayor Ivan Brooker is excited to see this project progress. “This art installation kicks off spring construction downtown,” he says. “When this project is complete, we’ll have one of the most beautiful historic downtown areas in the province.”

The Historic Downtown Enhancement Project continues this year, with a new gateway on Fifth Avenue north of the tracks, and trees along First Street.
