Residential street cleaning officially starts Tuesday May 9.
Town crews started their pre-sweep earlier this month, which should help reduce the amount of material to pick up during this year’s road clean-up.
Residential street sweeping is scheduled for 15 days, and ends June 2. Days are added at the end of the schedule if any sweeping is delayed or cancelled due to weather or mechanical issues.
As in past years, no parking signs will be placed in neighbourhoods in advance of scheduled sweeping days. Residents are asked to remove vehicles from the road by 8am and to use their driveways, garages and parking pads. Parking is allowed in alleys on scheduled street sweeping days if residents do not have other off-street parking.
Residents are also asked to move their waste, recycling and organics carts off the street as soon as they are emptied.
Street sweeping downtown and on main roads is done mostly at night to avoid traffic.
The schedule will be confirmed daily on facebook.com/TownofCochrane and Twitter @TownofCochrane.
