Kids Can Catch - Sat, Jun 15, 9am-1pm, Free, Mitford Pond
Join us for a FREE family fishing event, Kids Can Catch. Try your hand at fishing, pick up tips from experienced anglers and learn about conservation, responsible angling and water safety. It’s a great chance for all ages to give fishing a try, connect with nature and win some great prizes! Children 15 and under can take home a fish; everyone else must catch and release. Sport fishing licenses required for those aged 16-64. Purchase your license in advance at our local sponsor, Canadian Tire! Registration required.
Great Neighbour Week: Jun 15-22, cochrane.ca/Neighbour
Throughout the week, we invite you to celebrate the strong community spirit in your neighbourhood and connect with your great neighbours! It is an opportunity for neighbours to come together and celebrate with BBQs, picnics or an event at your local park.
Festivities include Kids Can Catch, a family friendly fishing event; the Cochrane Community Association Spring Gathering; and a travelling Neighbourhood Block Party Tour. Upload photos of your Great Neighbour Week activities to Instagram using hashtag #CochraneNeighbours for a chance to win a FREE block party for you and your great neighbours! Park ‘n Play: Play, Explore and Connect at your Neighbourhood Park! (weather and air quality dependent)
This FREE drop-in program runs Monday to Thursday each week throughout July and August. The Park n’ Play Program Leaders are dressed in blue and are there to facilitate fun outdoor activities for you and your school-aged children. The Parent Link Centre joins us every Tuesday to provide play and support for families with young children. Caregivers of children under six are always required to stay and supervise their children. Parents are responsible for drop-in children at all times and must be available in the event of an emergency.

Run alongside us in our family-friendly 3/5K fun run at the Cochrane Ranche, where all abilities are welcome to run, walk, stroll or roll. We celebrate together at the finish line with music, food, fun, child-friendly activities and prizes. We hope you’ll join us! Registration required.
