Every year, the Town of Cochrane and United Way of Calgary and Area partner to provide grant funding for organizations that provide initiatives & programs that address the social well-being of individuals and families. The application has been developed with prevention, early intervention and community development as foundational program delivery strategies for achieving our mandate?
This year there are two funding sources available:
This funding is intended to assist local organizations to host special events or programs which promote the social well-being of the community. This new funding stream is designed to support one-time, short term or pilot projects.
This funding is intended to assist local organizations offering programs and services that address local social needs. This funding stream is designed to support established programs with proven outcomes.
To be eligible, program/projects must:
FCSS Mandate:
Cochrane FCSS supports projects that are preventative in nature, encourage and support volunteerism and collaboration/partnership and address identified community needs.
United Way of Calgary and Area Mandate:
United Way of Calgary and Area supports projects that keep residents safe from abuse, assist vulnerable populations in developing skills to create healthy futures or develop capacity in the community for programs to become sustainable.
Ineligible projects for both applications include: recreation, duplicate services that are ordinarily provided by a government or government agency.
If this is a new project, it is recommended that you call to discuss guidelines prior to completing the application. If you have any additional questions regarding the funding process, please contact Kim Krawec, Manager, Cochrane Family & Community Support Services, 403-851-2250.
