COUNCIL SUPPORTS COMMUNITY GRANT FUNDING

Community Grants_FB

A total of 30 local groups were approved for Community Grant funding at the May 27 Council meeting.

The Town of Cochrane supports local groups with funding for projects, events or capital expenditures.

“These groups invest their time and energy to creating a complete community, and organize some of Cochrane’s most popular events,” said Mayor Jeff Genung. “Council is proud to be able to provide support.”

This year, Council approved $45,000 for the Community Grants program as part of the 2019 budget. The Town received 31 requests for funding; 30 met the policy criteria for a total of $66,832.50.

Organizations could apply for up to 50% funding for projects, events or capital expenses, to a maximum of $2,500. Funds must be used within 12 months of receipt.

Funding requests are reviewed in consideration of the Civic Partnerships, Community Grants, and Arts and Culture Endowment Fund policy.
