ADVANCE VOTE OPENS OCTOBER 9

Cochrane, AB – The Town is encouraging Cochranites to vote early in the Municipal Election. Advance vote opens Saturday, October 9.

 “We are encouraging Cochrane voters to vote early this election,” said Returning Officer Jaylene Knight. “The numerous advance vote opportunities offer voters the ability to cast their ballot early while helping to reduce the number of people at voting stations on Election Day.”

Advance polls are available on the following dates: 

Advance Poll 1

Saturday, October 9

Spray Lakes Sawmills Sports Centre (Gymnasium) 10am to 4pm

Advance Poll 2

Tuesday, October 12

Cochrane RancheHouse

4pm to 8pm

Advance Poll 3

Thursday, October 14

Cochrane RancheHouse

4pm to 8pm

Advance Poll 4

Saturday, October 16

Spray Lakes Sawmills Sports Centre (Gymnasium) 10am to 4pm

 

In order to vote, you must prove your identity and address with one of the following: 

  1. Government issued ID that shows both your name and current address.
  2. Two pieces of ID which both include your name, and one out of the two pieces include your current address. 

Voting stations will operate at one-third capacity in keeping with current Provincial public health guidelines. 

Cochrane voters will cast their votes for the Town of Cochrane’s six Councillors, School Trustee for either the Calgary Catholic School Division or the Rocky View School Division, three Senate appointments and two referendum questions. 

Election day is October 18, voting stations will be open from 7 am until 8 pm.
