Seniors' Week Events: June 6-12, 2022
In addition to the scheduled events, free programs are available all week at Seniors on the Bow and Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre. Seniors' Week is sponsored by the Town of Cochrane, Family & Community Support Services (FCSS) and Mayfair Diagnostics. Thank you to the numerous volunteers, businesses and organizations who supported different aspects to make this week such a great celebration! (Including: Cochrane Toyota, Cochrane Public Library, Home Treasures, MacKay's Ice Cream, Seniors on the Bow Society, Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre, Starbucks, Stockmen's Memorial Foundation and Two Pharmacy.

Tue Jun 7 | 9-10am | MOVE IT, OR LOSE IT This class will focus on joint stability, functional movements, range of motion, posture, balance and coordination. Wed Jun 8 | 10am-12pm | PICKLEBALL Pickleball is a popular sport that is played with racquets and combines elements and features of a number of other games and sports including badminton, tennis and table tennis. A limited number of paddles and balls will be available, you are encouraged to bring your own paddle if you have one. 1:30pm | JAMMERS Do you play an instrument, sing, or just like music? Get together with the Jammers, play a song, sing a song, and enjoy the music with friends, coffee and homemade cookies. 2-3pm | "HOME IS WHERE THE HILL IS" BY STOCKMEN'S MEMORIAL FOUNDATION Get a glimpse into what has shaped the Big Hill Country we call home and the many factors that have influenced settlement of the prairie grasslands. 1:15pm | MAJONG A popular Chinese game played with sets of tiles. It is a game of skill, strategy and luck. | Seniors on the Bow | |
1:30pm | LINE DANCING Join in for some boot scootin' as you follow the instructor through a series of repeated dance moves. | Seniors on the Bow | |
1:30pm | POOL There is no swimming in this game. Join in at the pool table with up to 4 players per game. | Seniors on the Bow | |

Fri Jun 10 | 10am | CHAIR FITNESS This exercise class is done around the use of a chair for balance. Exercises are done seated and standing if you choose. | Seniors on the Bow |
10:30-11:30am | FLOOR SHUFFLE Players use a paddle - like a stick called a tang to propel pucks (called biscuits) towards a scoring triangle. The tang, or cue, cannot be longer then 6ft 3 in. The player who goes first (usually decided by a coin toss) uses the yellow biscuits with the player going second using black. Equipment supplied. Sun Jun 12 | 2pm | SENIOR STROLL ALONG THE RIVER WITH CELEBRITY MARTIN PARNELL Join us for a leisurely walk or roll at your own pace and distance, with rest stops along the way. A COLT shuttle bus is available half way for those that need a rest. Meet some new friends and get some fresh air! Coffee and muffins will be provided after the walk. To register, call 403-851-2250.
