The municipal budget process starts in May of each year and runs through to October. Following the development of a draft budget, Council deliberates on and approves a budget by the end of the year.
Budget creation is guided by the 10-Year Financial Plan. This plan establishes long-term spending commitments and is updated annually to reflect the Cochrane's current finances.
