Host a block party

The Community Block Party Trailer comes with everything you need to host a block party, including: 

• 12 folding chairs 
• one broom 
• two barricades (four feet/two rails) 
• two hockey nets 
• four hockey sticks 
• one water fight kit  
• one first aid kit 
• three puck locks (trailer doors) 
• three keys  
• one trailer hitch lock 
• five E-track ratchet straps 
• three folding tables (eight feet) 
• one cooler 
• one chalkboard with chalk  
• one canopy 
• one griddle 
• one Jumpstart bag  (outdoor activity/game equipment)
• one step stool 
• boot lock (tire)  
• tire chocks (two yellow, one wood) 

Valid driver’s license, proof of vehicle insurance and registration, proof of event insurance, a $50 refundable deposit. You must provide your own towing vehicle.

• The tow vehicle must have a minimum trailer towing capacity from the manufacturer of 7,000 pounds. 
• The tow vehicle must be equipped with a functioning trailer brake controller. The controller must be adjusted properly after connecting to the trailer. 
• The trailer emergency “breakaway” switch must be checked. 
• Trailer safety chains must be connected to the tow vehicle hitch receiver before towing. Chains must be crossed. 
• The tow vehicle must have a seven-pin round trailer electrical receptacle to accommodate trailer braking and lighting. All lights must be tested before departure. 
• The tow vehicle must be equipped with extendable trailer tow mirrors. Mirrors must be adjusted before departure. 
• Trailer tires must be properly inflated, and lug nuts must be secure. 
• Trailer doors must be secured and locked before departure. 
• When backing up the trailer, a ground guide must be used. 
• Trailer doors must be locked with supplied locks when not in use. 
• The trailer hitch lock must be used on the trailer hitch when unattached from the tow vehicle. If left on the street, the trailer must be attached to a vehicle (as required by the Cochrane Traffic Bylaw No.02-2005). 
• The trailer must not be towed outside of West Rocky View County Boundaries. 

Regulations state that when transporting a trailer, the liability coverage on the towing vehicle automatically extends to the towed vehicle. This is the case as long as the towing vehicle is insured according to provincial minimums (third-party liability, commonly referred to as PLPD). 

You will require an approved street use permit and proof of event insurance. 

There is no cost for use of the Community Block Party Trailer. However event insurance and a $50 refundable deposit is required and an event permit may be required.

Yes, due to safety during transportation, you will need to supply your own propane.

Keys for the Block Party Trailer are provided upon successful completion of all required paperwork. Arrangements for pickup and return will be coordinated no more than two days in advance of the booking.
