1. Can I attend a Council meeting?

Anyone can attend Council or Committee of the Whole meetings.

There are two Regular Council meetings most months, on the second and fourth Monday of the month at 5:30pm  (exceptions: one meeting in each month during July and December and no meetings August).

There are two Committee of the Whole meetings most months, on the first and third Monday of the month at 5:30pm. (exceptions: one meeting in each month during July and December and no meetings August). 

Council and Committee of the Whole meetings are open to the public and are held in Council Chambers, Cochrane RancheHouse, 101 RancheHouse Road; public health measures in place.

Check for agendas for upcoming meetings (posted by 3 pm on the Friday before the meeting). Meetings begin at 5:30 pm and are held in Council Chambers at the Cochrane RancheHouse: 101 RancheHouse Road.

2. Who is my Council member?

All seven Council members (including the mayor) represent all residents of Cochrane; you are welcome to contact any of them.

3. How do I get in touch with a Council member?

Please use the online form to contact a member of Council.  You can also call 403-851-2500 and ask to leave a message.

4. How can I volunteer for a committee?

Committee positions are also known as Public-at-Large (PAL) positions and are always advertised when positions become available.

5. Can I present something at a Council meeting?

To ask to appear before Town Council, or to place an item on a Council meeting agenda, review the Council Delegation Information Sheet and then contact the manager of Legislative Services at 403-851-2500.
